We’re here! We left Tennessee bright and early and hit the road for Lake Cumberland. A couple hours in and we stopped for breakfast at a Cracker Barrel. Note: eating at Cracker Barrel on a road trip, especially with a little one, is the best idea ever. Clean and friendly (much cleaner diaper changing stations than a fast-food chain) and really cheap and fast service. Plus-Norah and I got to use the really comfy rocking chairs on the porch to nurse both days on the road. We timed her feedings to coincide with towns that had a Cracker Barrel, and it was one of the best ideas we’ve had yet. On Sunday, we stopped to nurse and stretch our legs, and on Monday we decided to eat breakfast there as well.
We finally made it to The Lake!! Love coming down the hill and seeing this view:
We got to the dock around 2 pm and met up with the grandparents and Jennifer before getting the rental houseboat. Our home for the week:
Once the Farmer Newtons made it to the dock we were off to our cove! Bubba and Papa shared driving responsibilities
After an hour’s drive, we got to our cove and tied up then started making dinner. We spent the rest of the evening sitting on the decks and chit-chatting with some of our favorite red heads.
