4, 5 and 6 month Update!!

It’s been awhile since our last Wittman family update. It appears that the holiday season got the better of us and it’s almost the middle of February?!?  When did that happen? Tonight we’re just popping in to give a quick update of the last 3 months, but stay tuned! Details about our holidays, Norah’s baptism and Rachel’s promotion to Major are coming soon.

Today was a big day…Norah turned 6 months old!  It’s hard to believe that half a YEAR has gone by since she was born.  It seems like she is learning something new every day. She had her first solid foods today (sweet potato and avocado) and it was a huge success, if one can judge success by the amount of mess made in her high chair.  The actual facial expressions that she made while eating lead us to believe that she was not a huge fan of either food, but we’ll see!

Norah chatters and “talks” to herself and her stuffed animals all day long and loves to have conversations.  My favorite part of the day is the early morning.  Norah will all of sudden stop nursing, look up at me, put her hands on my cheeks and start babbling.  It’s almost like she’s trying to tell me her dreams!  She is imitating lots of vowels, and will say b, m, and a back “guh” sound.   She’s learning to make raspberries and she is trying to make sounds with her tongue, too!

She loves tummy time and immediately rolls over onto her belly once she is placed on the floor or in her crib.  She pushes really high onto her hands and she is attempting to push up onto her knees.  She is able to balance pretty well while sitting on the floor if she has some support, and we think she’ll be sitting on her own soon. No teeth yet, but again, we think we’ll see teeth any day now!  She’s constantly chewing on her hands, clothes, bibs, etc., and she’s been a little fussier lately.  Surely she’s fussing because she’s teething…right?

We have really great nights where she’ll fall asleep around 7 or 8 pm and will sleep until 5 or 6 in the morning, but she will wake up around 3 am to eat once or twice a week.  We’ve tried to be really consistent with her bedtime routine and we hope that we’ll continue to make progress in that department!

Here are some pictures from her six month photo shoot this morning, in addition to ones from five and four months!! Enjoy!
