Hello colder weather!!
The weather around here is finally cooling off and we’ve been really loving being able to get outside and enjoy the sunny days. Our pup is also enjoying the change in weather, as it means that squirrels and chipmunks are gathering nuts for the winter…right outside our window. Annabelle has parked herself in front of our window for the last two weeks to bark at them and rarely leaves her perch. Even when it is dark and the blinds are drawn, she remains vigilant. Way to protect the porch, pups!
About two weeks ago, Mike and I had a lot of fun reminiscing about our trip to Munich last fall for Oktoberfest 2012. We decided to time our visit to Tom and Rachel who were stationed in Germany at the time with the beer fest, and rounded out our European trip with some side trips in Belgium to eat mussels in Brussels and drink some amazing Belgian brews. Tour de Beer was amazing. We got together with Tom and Rach at their new place in DC to celebrate Oktoberfest 2013 stateside, and had just as much fun as last year!
Over the Columbus Day weekend, we drove to a state park (because Harper’s Ferry, our favorite National Park was closed due to the shutdown, boo!) in MD to go on a family hike. Norah rocked some hiking socks for the occasion, and we all loved to see some changing leaves along the Appalachian Trail.
Happy Friday, everyone!! We have big plans for this weekend, including a pumpkin patch with our puppy, Eastern Market and brunch with the fam, and Norah and Amanda are going shopping with the girls on Sunday at the outlets!!
We’ll leave you with a super sweet pic of Norah having some tummy time with Michael. She sure loves her daddy!!
